Become a foster home

                                       

If you love animals, have an open heart and good observation skills you can become a foster home to one of our dogs or cats. You don’t need professional experience to do this!

Animal Welfare will provide you with all the necessary equipment, advice, veterinary and behavioura help. Being a foster is a really enjoyable and rewarding experience. You get to play and bond with an animal and, more importantly you SAVE A LIFE!

 

How to prepare?

 

1.Talk to your family/flatmates. They ALL have to be okay with the idea of fostering an animal. 

 

2.Prepare a pet-proof space in your house/garden where the animal can stay alone safely without the risk of hurting itself or your things (such as furniture, computer wires, your new shoes, chemicals, plants, etc.).

 

3.Make sure your garden fence doesn’t have holes.

 

4.Your pet will need constant access to clean water and a dry and warm place to sleep.

 

5.Place your plants out of reach – some of them can be poisonous!

 

6.Close all cleaning chemicals in a secure place – again, they can poison your pet. The same goes for medications.

 

7.Remove the carpet from the room where the pet is. It might be difficult to clean it afterwards.

 

8.Hide valuable things just in case – you don’t want your new friend to chew on them.

 

9.If you already have pets, make sure they are vaccinated, healthy and ready to make new friends.

 

Be patient, don’t worry and prepare yourself for lots of fun and surprises. If things don’t work out, you are not alone, Animal Welfare will take care of the situation. Giving an animal a second chance is a wonderful feeling, you become a part of a story with a happy end!
